Makayla Christine Machado (December 17, 1975 - September 26, 2016)
Makayla Machado had a special ability to brighten up every room she entered, as her laughter was contagious and her smile was endearing. She was playful and enthusiastic, creative and colorful, loving and kind. She possessed a quality to her that always spread joy.
She had a gorgeous, powerful singing voice, and she enjoyed performing with the bands she led. She loved musicals, especially the Sound of Music, and the creations of Stephen Sondheim. She was incredibly creative in many mediums and endlessly crafted costumes and decorations for every holiday, including new holidays, and all occasions or no occasion at all.
Makayla loved to bake and was especially known for her one-of-kind decorated cakes, cupcakes, and cookies. Martha Stewart had nothing on her pie-making skill. She loved to read novels by the stack. She enjoyed traveling and appreciated natural scenic beauty. She had many friends of all ages from all walks of life. She had a really big heart and made everyone in her huge circle feel appreciated, special, and deeply loved.
She was preceded in death by her great grandmothers, Carmen Acension Flores and Anna Mae Grant. She is survived by her mother, Marissa Flores Machado, father, William Bradley Grant, stepfather who raised her, Paul Robert Siebenaler, maternal grandmother, Hortensia Flores Garcia, paternal grandmother, Virgie B. Hahn, and paternal grandfather William H. Grant. Also, sisters, Celeste and Tasha Siebenaler, and Neffitinni Gutierrez, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. Plus, Peanut, her beloved doggy.
Her favorite symbol was butterflies, for their beauty, grace, and freedom. Everyone who had the joy of meeting her will remember her for her generous, giving, caring nature. God will welcome her and smile, just as everyone who has ever met her has.
We will be celebrating Butterfly Kaylas' life at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Highland Crest Baptist Church (Grace of the Good Shepard Church), located at 8724 Putnam Drive, Austin, Texas 78757.
