Alyce Countess Hasson passed to her heavenly home on October 8, 2016 at the age of 96 and was taken into the hands of God to be with her husband John Hasson, her mother and father, Jewel and Louis Countess and her sisters and brothers. Alyce was born in Moffatt, Texas on March 24, 1920. She was raised in Idalou, Texas and worked on the farm beside her siblings as she grew up. She was raised during the Great Depression and was part of the Greatest Generation. Alyce filled the role of "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II to help her country. She met John Hasson, the love of her life, after the war, they raised three children and were married for 67 years.
Alyce is survived by her children, Jacquie Stevens, Richard Hasson, and Shelley Hasson Garrett of Austin, Texas, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Heaven has gained another angel and she has reached eternal peace, but she has left a legacy to light the way for those left behind.
An intimate family memorial will be held in Austin on October 13, 2016. Her remains will join her husband gone before her in Lubbock, Texas on October 15, 2016 at 10:00am at the Lubbock Cemetery.
