Russell O'Day Ward, age 58 joined our Lord, surrounded by his loving family and friends on Saturday April 1, 2017 in Kerrville Texas after a short illness. He was born on February 4, 1959 in Llano Texas to Patsy Jean Harlow and Barrie Lester Ward. He was a graduate of Tivy High school in 1977 where he was active in football, FFA and other various clubs. Russell truly lived life to the fullest and was a genuine free spirit, a loving son, brother, uncle and a true friend. He had a great love for the outdoors; traveling, hunting and fishing as well as being an avid golf enthusiast, All our lives are richer by knowing and having Russell in our lives. When thinking of Russell you can't help but smile.
He is survived by his parents; Barrie and Patsy Ward of Kerrville; brother Randall Ward and his wife Stephanie of San Antonio, sister Wendy Rhoden and her husband Troy of Kerrville; nephews Garrett and Logan Ward of San Antonio; niece's Lindsey and Rachel Rhoden of Kerrville, aunts; Nola Jolly of Austin, Rhonda Hawkins of Burnet and Pat Tate of Dallas as well as many cousins and friends. Family, friends and others whose lives Russell touched are invited to celebrate his life, reminisce and support one another, at 2:00 pm on Saturday April 22nd 2017 at Scotty Schmerber's "The Lazy Dog Sports Bar at 3804 Riverside Drive in Kerrville. Dress will be casual, Where you favorite beach shirt and shorts. The family would like to extend our gratitude to all the doctors, nurses and staff of Peterson Regional Medical Center for their attentiveness and love, and to our many Special friends that have shown acts of Love and kindness to our family during this difficult time and for making this Celebration happen. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given in Russell's name to the charity of one's choice or just show an act of Kindness to a stranger and remember Russell.
